“Gibbs Widemann III”

David Kinsman is an accomplished actor, voice actor, musician, and songwriter with a body of work that spans well over 20 years.
After taking a couple of years away from acting to travel the world and work full time in the music industry, David has come back more determined and focused than ever before on his acting career.
Studying with Sears and Switzer, voice work with Deborah Joe and most notably under the tutelage of the incomparable Tom Todoroff, David’s work as well as his list of credits has grown measurably.
David can be seen most recently in:
• Forensic Factor VI episode 4 “The Abbotsford Killer” as the radio station DJ
• Breakout Episode 4 as Gary Silvers
• Urban Legends episode “Fingering The Perp” as Detective Gary Zwicker
• Eaten Alive episode “Killer Cats and Dogs as Tom Delventhal For Discovery Channel
• Forbidden Science for HBO/Cinemax episodes 1 & 2 as Dwight the security guard
• Feature Film Death Or Canada as Dr. George Grassett for the History Channel
• Under Currence feature film as Clint the mob enforcer
• Dark Reflections video game voice of the character Tom
• Narrator on the documentary film Fotony: D’Gary and The Roots Of Bema
• Narrator on the documentary film Vendee Globe
• Narrator for Simcoe County Museum’s audio walk through
…and of course his starring role as Gibbs Widemann the III in Stand-Off.
Never resting on his laurels, David’s passion for the art will always keep him growing, learning, and pushing himself to ever greater challenges

A character actor of the highest order, Elvis Deane launched his career as Squeaknibble the Mouse in sixth grade and went on to portray many other characters who fight the establishment and play by their own rules. Most recently, he starred in the short films Zoltanus the Great and The Basket, indulging in his continuing love of playing characters with moustache. Nowhere is that love more prominent than in Stand-Off, where he plays the mysterious Renaissance man Todd Shackleford. He is a graduate of Toronto's Second City Training Centre and enjoys ballroom dancing and riding the GO train.

Comedic actress Chelsea Larkin has been likened to a female Jim Carrey, a woman of many faces. It’s no wonder she’s a veteran of famed Toronto theatre troupes The Second City and The Bad Dog Theatre. Throughout her budding career, she’s appeared in productions like Fiddler on the Roof, Othello, The Vagina Monologues and Rumplestiltskin. She also appeared in the Hollywood film Charlie Bartlett (2007), starring Robert Downey Jr.
As Janine Lafontaine in Stand-Off, Chelsea will wow audiences with her versatility and amp up the shock value.

Emily Stranges is an up-and-coming actress from Niagara Falls, Ontario. She’s been a performer as long as she can remember; as early as three years old, she knew it was her calling. She started her career with local theatre and music camps and learned to play the piano and guitar. After that, she never looked back. She’s done several commercials, music videos and television shows. She was chosen as the anchor for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign; she’ll also grace an upcoming cover of Every Day With Rachael Ray magazine. Most recently, she played the lead role of Sarah in the MADD School Campaign for 2010-11.
She lists her performance as Fiona Lafontaine in Stand-Off as one of her favorite roles yet and she’ll continue to feed her love of being in front of the camera going forward. It’s a good thing, because the camera loves her too.

Jacob Caldwell’s young career is off to a booming start. He’s already handled leading roles in several short films—including Stand-Off, Living History and Motherly—while also making stops in television shows, commercials and even the runway. Jacob brings an understated performance to the screen that’s rarely found in an actor his age, and he’s obviously destined for bright things in the future.

Travis Kuhne has an uncanny, eclectic skill-set that anyone would be jealous of; it’s even more impressive considering he’s just 13 years old. When he’s not competitive swimming, practicing TaeKwonDo, arching, skiing or playing one of four instruments, Travis is working on his newfound love—acting. He’s already appeared in the short films Stand-Off and The Transistor, and you can catch him in the latest Kraft Dinner campaign. And you can bet you’ll be seeing even more of Travis in 2010 and beyond.

Just hearing the moniker “Bassi & McMahon,” as this dynamic directing duo is affectionately known, exudes cool. Gurjeet K. Bassi and Anthony J. McMahon are taking the Canadian film scene by storm.
Their creative stamp ranges from searing drama to heartwarming comedy, from high-budget to low-budget, from film to television to music videos. They launched their filmmaking careers with well-received, gritty comedy Brian and followed that up with the dark comedic epic known asStand-Off.
Bassi & McMahon also recently collaborated on music videos for The Get By, Luke McMaster and Saint City, covering three different genres on the process: hip-hop, pop and rock. They manage to put a unique stamp on every project while at the same time establishing themselves as true auteurs through the magic they work with the camera.
Writers
Matt Larkin and Ian Van Den Hurk began working together in 2004 at the University of Western Ontario. There, they studied journalism and ran their university newspaper. In 2007 they moved to Toronto and have made professional stops in broadcasting, print journalism, web writing and marketing.
Matt and Ian have also spent the past six years in creative writing. They have written over half a dozen full-length features and a television series. They released their debut short film, the low-budget comedy Brian, in 2009. They followed up with the black comedy Stand-Off, which finished post-production in Spring 2010. Presently, they are writing an independent horror film with hopes of production in fall 2010.
Producer
Have a look at any new Canadian film or television project and, chances are, you’ll find Ashley Shields-Muir’s name on it. The rising star producer stays unbelievably busy with a plethora of feature film, television and short film projects on the go.
Ashley’s most recent projects include TVO’s Women of Distinction, OMNI’s Secret Recipes of the Maharaja’s and short films such as Stand-Off and Brian. She also gained experience working on high-profile shows like Canadian Idol on CTV and The Clark Rockefeller Story on Lifetime in the past.
As Stand-Off’s producer, Ashley was instrumental in casting the film and recruiting the special talents needed for pyrotechnics, sound and costume design.
